How We Did It – A Player’s Perspective

What a GREAT series!!! The Oaklyn team really came to play! Now we can see why they were undefeated during the regular season. Our first championship game was played on their home field. Our Cardinals jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, and never looked back! Our pitcher Melissa S. pitched an awesome game that night, giving up a few hits and only 1 run. As a team, we played awesome defense! Melissa S., pitched a great game, but it was the defense in the field that also helped us win this game!

Then game two arrived! This game was played on our home field. Again, we jumped out to an early lead! We were wining 5-1 going into the last inning. The Oaklyn team was down to there last at bat. Our Cardinals were able to get two quick outs in that inning. With 2 outs, the Oaklyn girls rallied for 3 runs!! But our mighty Cardinals never gave up!! Our 2nd basemen, Amanda, caught the last out! Everyone played an awesome game!! The final score was Runnemede Cardinals -5, Oaklyn -4. That is how we won the Minor League Championship!
